GATHER STUDIES

Gather Studies is a body of work exploring the sometimes meditative, sometimes obsessive practice of gathering not only glass but also the many many parts to make a whole.

Referential to textiles and inspired by a floor loom weaving class years ago, these pieces are made by carefully making individual strands if glass by hand. The strands are then chopped and fused and manipulated into a loop. The loops are then either reheated and fused together, or sandblasted and acid etched.
